19 days…not that I’m counting

Saturday, October 4th, 2008

Well here we are only 19 days away from my due date. Seems crazy to think. I’m definitely ready though. Life is getting pretty hard. Bending over to pick up something that I’ve dropped is no longer an option. My feet are swelling up to where my toes look like lil sausages :) They (moms) say the last few weeks of pregnancy are tough and boy are they right. I can’t complain too much, I’ve had such a wonderful pregnancy. Now I just can’t wait to see his beautiful face. Had my doctors appointment last Tuesday and she said that everything is looking good and baby is in good position (head down).

Daniel and I are trying to relax and enjoy our last days together just the two of us. We spent today out on the lake for what will probably be one of the last, if not the last, weekend on the lake before lil ariza monster comes. It was a beautiful day!

Here I am at the lake at 37 weeks and 2 days.

ready for bed

Sunday, September 14th, 2008

So we finally got the bed completely set up, mattress and all. That is one more things we can check off our to do list. I love it and it all goes perfectly with the room. There are just a couple more things to do in the room and then it is all finished.

I’m down to 5 weeks and 4 days till my due date today. I’m pretty excited and nervous. Lately I haven’t been doing that great physically, sciatic nerve has become a literal pain in my butt. Lil Ariza is getting much bigger and it’s starting to take a toll on my body. But I’m hangin’ in there and getting as much rest as I can. It will all be worth it once I see him.

7 more weeks!!

Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008

I know I know I haven’t blogged in forever, but I have a good excuse…I’m pregnant.

Everything has been going well. I just had another doctor’s appointment and I’m glad to say that baby and me are completely healthy. Other than getting bigger I’m doing excellent. Baby is growing like a weed, it is crazy to see my entire stomach move around.  I’m doing better at keeping my weight in check. Not eating 3 boxes of poptarts in a weekend has helped with that.

I’m currently 33 weeks. Only 7 more weeks to go. Scary since we have soooo much to do but I’m very anxious to see and hold our baby. We’ve been furiously painting the nursery and we are finally finished. It turned out AWESOME!

Lizzy, Jordan, Melissa, Jenn and Linda threw me probably what was the best baby shower ever. It was a little monster theme and it was incredible. I can’t thank them enough for it. And thank you to all my friends for being there and “showering” me with all the wonderful gifts.

We still have tons to do…and buy!!! We’ll keep you updated as much as possible.

Pregnant and Matching

Monday, July 28th, 2008

We went to dinner last Friday night with our good friends Ian and Melissa. Little did we know that Melissa and I would be wearing the same dress. Definitely not inconspicuous either, red stripes stand out. Little did we know they would also be announcing to us that night that Melissa is 3 months pregnant!! We are so excited for them. It will be nice to have someone to go through my last trimester of pregnancy with.

Congratulations Ian and Melissa! Your kid is gonna be awesome!

Seeing is Believing

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

Daniel and I had a very exciting event last night. We finally saw my belly move from the lil monster’s kicking. It isn’t super strong but there is no denying it. He is definitely making himself known inside my lil belly.

Last Moments Alone

Monday, July 7th, 2008

This past 4th of July weekend Kaci and took what will probably be our last babyless trip. We drove up to Savannah, Ga and stayed in a cool old Inn called the East Bay Inn. It was nice to get away and relax a bit. The staff at the Inn seemed to take a liking to Kaci and even made sure she was able to find the fried chicken she so desired.

We did make an effort to eat at Paula Deen’s restaurant but the line was on both sides of the street. And after speaking with some locals they didn’t seem to think it was best place in town anyway. But we still managed to eat pretty well… and I think our baby ate well too.

So we saw fireworks, ate good food, took a tour of the historical district, did a lot of walking and hopefully gained a little bit of culture to pass on to our little one.

All Is Well

Isaac HunterYesterday we went to the doctor for Kaci’s 24 week check up. The doctor said everything looked good and our last ultrasound looked completely normal. So thank goodness for all that.

But there is something else that I need to share with you. In the doctor’s office there is photos all over the walls. Photos of families and babies she has delivered. We even saw a few we knew. One in particular was a little off putting. Right next to the exam table. The area where the doctor may need to inspect your business is a photo of Isaac Hunter. That’s right… There is a photo of our pastor on the wall. So as the doctor is putting on her rubber glove, Isaac is there winking “hello”.

Round House

Friday, June 27th, 2008

Crane KickKaci and I have been waiting patiently for the day we would be able to feel the baby kick from the outside. She has been been feeling him kick her bladder around for a while but nothing could be felt from outside. Last night as I was falling asleep Kaci started saying my name aggressively. I instantly woke up thinking something must be on fire. But to my surprise she just wanted me to be able to feel my son kick for the first time. Like a little mini ninja he was in there doing battle with Kaci’s kidneys. It’s still hard to imagine that he’s moving and growing in there but I do know he has mean round house kick.
